With "Digger Dave" still recovering and "Here's to you Mrs Robinson" working it was left for the oldest and youngest to ride out today. We will not say which is which. We set off from "Digger Dave's" home with his best wishes and envy. A cracking pace was then set and in no time at all we were at Sparkford via Ilchester and Queen Camel. We then took the old A303 through some beautiful villages. Compton Pauncefoot is especially delightful with "Rev Trev" insisting on stopping and having a peep inside its church, St Marys. Todays photo is this church's Lich Gate. This is most appropriate as the the Lich Gate is where coffins await the clergyman's arrival. "Vet Geoff" is not a coffin but he still awaits the clergyman! We travelled to Wincanton where we were greeted by a hail shower. Coffee was supplied by "Vet Geoff's" mother-in-law. Who says in-laws aren't helpful? After baguettes from the local baker we cycled back to Sparkford and on to Sherborne. We then returned to Yeovil via Bradford Abbas, Stoford and Barwick.
Miles today = 58. Again strong SW winds produced some hard pedaling home.
