1st March 08 Ride

We set out to do a longer ride today. Still without Digger Dave, though he is progressing ahead of schedule. Our intention was to head out to the Sturminster Newton area, not only because this would include some pleasant country-side cycling but also so that Rev Trev could revisit some sights of his childhood days. We stopped near the mill at Sturminster, see photo, but due to strong tail winds were ahead of schedule. We therefore cycled on and took lunch at The Saxon Pub in Child Okeford. Over lunch further planning was discussed for our forth coming trip. We call it LEJOG (LandsEnd John O'Groats). Refreshed we decided to do some hill work by cycling up to BullBarrow Hill. The joy of the mornings tail winds was paid back cycling home with very strong head winds. It seemed strange having to cycle hard downhill!
Miles today 67.7. Somewhere near what we will have to do daily on LEJOG.
