At the moment we are grabbing every opportunity to get a few more miles on our legs. So it will not be unusual to see two or three of us cycling about 20 miles on the odd evening. However as far as possible Saturday still remains a day when we try to do a big run. Today it was Digger, Rev and Mrs Robinson who were joined by our friend Nic. The Vet deciding that his son's wedding ought to take priority over this week end. We wondered how much of a wrench this was for him not to be out with his cycling mates! But perhaps he needed to be with his family on that occasion, so we accepted his apology! It was a glorious day for cycling - warm with a slight breeze. We decided that our route would take us to Tytherleigh between Chard and Axminster where we would stop and visit one of our sponsors, Laurel Farm Alpacas. We were all taken in by these amazing animals and we had to literally drag Mrs R away before she adopted one as a team mascot. We continued on our journey stopping for refreshements at Musbury then through Axmouth and enjoying a wecome ice cream on the front at Seaton. Our return journey took as almost into Lyme and back to Crewkerne via Marshwood. About 10 miles from Crewkerne we found time was getting on a little and Nic needed to be back home so he and Rev Trev used a little pedal power and arrived back in Crewkerene at a cycling rate which couldn't be maintained for long. At Crewkerne Rev Trev made his own way back to Yeovil. Digger Dave and Mrs Robinson arrived back in Martock in their own time being able to enjoy a more leisurely end to the day. A really good day when we rode a total of 72miles.
